The center feathered star block was originally constructed in 2004 and was then promptly relegated to that special quilter's category called UFOs (UnFinished Objects). The guilt finally became too heavy to bear so it was fished out in October of 2016 and eventually grew into the quilt that was completed the following summer. This was a technical and creative challenge at every step! Feathered star block is from a pattern by Marsha McCloskey originally published in Traditional Quilts Issue #60; the Rising Star blocks are original as is the setting and quilting patterns. Machine pieced and machine quilted.
