Made with leftover blocks from a full-sized version, these blocks were adapted from a quilt seen in a video about Utah quilters. The traditional pattern was called "Providence." My own version of the block was designed at my daughters' swim meet - those long hours spent sitting at those humid events provided a lot of quilting time! The applique was made using a machine process that uses a foundation paper; the quilt was machine-quilted. My older daughter came up with the name to match the bright colors.
