In preparation for teaching a new class, Summer 2023 has been the season for making portraits. "Dare You" is the first completed one; the original pattern for it was based on a copyright "free to use" Pexels photograph by Alexander Krivitskiy of Kyiv, Ukraine. I love the process of building layers of fabric on a blank background and seeing the image slowly appear. Adding stitchwork contributes to the fun.
