Commissioned by a teacher for her daughter's graduation, "Manta Dreams" is an original design consisting of two manta rays and a sea turtle; the colors were inspired by "Koi" made in 2005. The machine applique was done in my "Down-Under Applique" technique, which uses a paper-foundation similar to paper-piecing. Machine-pieced and machine-quilted as well.
