This 30" x 30" quilt features a variety of hand and machine techniques, and was made for "The Springtime Challenge" Keepsake Quilting contest in 1992. I had beginner's luck - it won an Honorable Mention. One of the judging comments I received actually got me interested in becoming a certified judge and learning about quilting standards. My cherished "child" came home from the challenge with the comment that "the binding needed improvement" ...wuh? Binding?! You mean that wrinkly strip of fabric I stitched around the edge - is that really important? (Answer: YES!!!)
