Stretch is an original pattern adapted from an uncredited image found on the internet for a class on teaching human and animal portraits. After manipulating the image with design software, a pattern was made to allow for easy applique. Additional details are added with thread painting, embroidery, and/or quilting.
I thought Stretch’s head looked a bit lonely floating in space, so I grounded him with a border of flowers which will also provide a hideaway if needed.
Machine piecing and applique, and stationary machine quilting.
