The blocks for this quilt were originally doubled in number, but when all the hand-pieced blocks were positioned on my design wall, they looked terrible - a visual nightmare! The blocks were promptly split into two different quilts, and this is the first one completed after three and a half years of construction. The blocks that were removed can be found in my quilt "Make It Do."
The blocks are the traditional “Rainbow Flower” from Laura Wheeler as included the Feb/Mar 2011 Quilter's Newsletter Magazine article about Jinny Beyer's book "The Quilter's Album of Patchwork Patterns.” The arrangement, setting, and quilting designs are my own.
Hand pieced, hand appliqued, and machine quilted on a domestic sewing machine.
